One of the best things about a fishing holiday is knowing that you have a good chance of catching a fish! Once I tallied up the per-fish cost of fishing when we lived in the beach suburb of Wamberal, NSW. If you add the cost of gear, cost of bait, cost of getting to a good fishing place (boat or beach), divided by the number of keepable fish caught, I think the price was about $150.00 per fish!
Well, you can be sure that the average cost per fish caught on the farm is a lot less! You do not need your own gear (in fact it's not allowed on the farm due to the risk of disease transmission), we supply you with a rod, lures, net etc. AND we clean and gut the fish for you, pack them on ice or even prepare them for BBQ-ing. The costs of rod hire and fishing is listed below...
General admission to the farm is free of charge
Farm Tours: Generally run at 11:00am and 2:00pm, weather permitting. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children. Pensioner and group discounts are available.
Fishing: We operate on a catch and keep basis only, all fish caught must be paid for.
Charges are: $8 per rod, all gear supplied. Caught fish are cleaned and gutted and charged at $15.00 per kg. (Fish range from 300g to 2.5kg and the costs therefore range from $5 to about $38.00). Larger fish are harder to catch, generally. (No fish may be returned to the dam once caught.)
Use of gas BBQ’s is free for paying guests, a small charge is levied for use of the BBQ only.
